AUTHOR’S NOTE: I
started writing
this roughly ten minutes
after watching DeadAlive
on April 1st of 2001. April Fool’s
Day. For most of that day some friends
and I could not help but wonder if Chris Carter was going to drop a
bomb. In a way, he did.
Bringing back Special Agent Fox Mulder from a
three month stint in a sealed coffin just about did me in-as
far as
storylines go, anyway. However, it was
the final expression on Special Agent Doggett’s face in DeadAlive
that intrigued my Muse, thereby bringing this story to
life. Though I have written a lot of
things since I started this tale, this is my "baby", and I shall
continue with it, for as long as the Muse allows. Updates
will be made on a periodic basis.
SUMMARY: For a long time
it had seemed to me that life was about to begin--real life. But there
was always some obstacle in the way, something to be gotten through
first, some unfinished business, time still to be served, a debt to be
paid. Then life would begin. At last it dawned on me that these
obstacles were my life. ~ Alfred
D. Souza
My
absolute heartfelt thanks go out to:
Gillian
Anderson, Tom Braidwood, Chris
Carter, William B. Davis, David Duchovny, Annabeth Gish, Dean Haglund,
Bruce
Harwood, Laurie Holden, Sheila Larken, Nicholas Lea, Robert Patrick,
James
Pickens, Jr., and Arlene & Mitch Pileggi, and the rest of the
writers,
producers, guest-stars, crew and sponsors who made this show possible.
Without
all of you, and your brilliant work on this one of a kind series,
science-fiction and drama would not be what they are today, and I would
never
have met certain people in my life.
Special Thanks to Aussiegrrl,
Maineria, Nefarious
Scully, Spooky’s Girl, the rest of the ADP Family, and Siberian
Skys, for
your
immense amount of patience with me, as I continue to write this story. If it were not for your kind words-and
critical
guidance-over the past three years, I would not have made it thus far. Instead, I may have simply sent this to the
Recycle Bin, hit the Delete key, and regretted it for the rest of my
life.
For my family, because their
continued support as I pursue all of my writing
endeavors has been
both humbling, and thrilling.
